President’s Message – Spring 2018

Withrow Alumni, Inc. (WAI) continues to be supportive of current and former students, teachers, and staff and to promote a healthy learning environment that helps prepare students to become successful, productive and contributing members of society. WAI will continue to provide appropriate funding for students, teachers, and staff and to keep Withrow beautiful by funding appropriate maintenance requirements.

WAI committees are actively preparing for the Centennial Celebration, as Withrow will attain the century mark in 2019. The committees are working with administrators, teachers, staff, and students to ensure successful one hundred year recognition.

I will not be seeking to continue as President of WAI. I have enjoyed my tenure and have been able to see so many positive changes in WAI due to great board members. The board has become younger and committed to their positions and requirements. I will continue as a board member. My final request is that each of you frequently view our fantastic website and Facebook Page to keep up to date on all the happenings at Withrow, especially the Centennial Celebration initiatives.

I, personally, want to thank each and every one of you who have supported Withrow with your monetary donations and hope that you will continue that support. WAI cannot survive without the generosity of the Alumni. So as I relinquish my duties as President, I wish those who have walked the halls of Withrow the very best in the future. Take time to smell the roses and take care of those you love.

(Ed. Note: David Blocksom ’68 was elected President at the May 9, 2018 Board of Trustees meeting, and his inaugural message will be posted in the near future.)
