Do you remember Wilce Carnes? Wilce Carnes graduated in 1936 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012.

Wilce Carnes participated in the following sports:

In baseball, Carnes had a career average just under .500 and hit a home run, triple and double in the final game leading Withrow to its first State Championship in 1934. In football, he was a triple threat back and linebacker on defense leading Withrow to a 30-6 record and three PHSL Championships in his four years.

His collegiate career was at the University of Kentucky. Carnes was inducted into the LaRosa’s Hall of Fame in 1981 and was cited as “one of the greatest ever in local high school sports.”
