B. Nieman ’45, W. Ernst ’52, M. Todd ’65. A. McCall ’93 & D. Love ’05 in Withrow Athletic Hall of Fame

JANUARY 2015 – Five Withrow Tigers – Bob Nieman ’45, Will Ernst ’52, Mark Todd ’65, Annette McCall and Dante Love ’05 are members of the fourth class of inductees into the Withrow High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Congratulations to these five outstanding athletes who will join the twenty-one previous inductees. The induction ceremony took place on Friday, January 23, 2015 at half-time of the Withrow-Loveland varsity boys’ basketball game.

Those who were recently nominated but not selected will be eligible for three additional induction years. If not inducted they will have to be re-nominated. There will be instructions for nominations in the spring edition of the “Tower News” and it is our expectation that readers will continue to nominate individuals for induction. However, individuals may be nominated anytime prior to July 31, 2015. The nomination form is readily available at Withrow Alumni Website

Donations may be made payable to WAI with the designation to the WAHOF. We do need your support.  Anyone having interest in being on the selection committee should contact Vince Stitzel at caboosevin@gmail.com. We do have two available positions. There are currently thirteen members.



Bob Niemann – Class of 1945 for baseball – Bob was a multi-talented athlete who had notable athletic achievements at Withrow and a successful 12 year career in Major League Baseball. While at Withrow, Bob earned a total of 8 varsity letters in football, basketball, and baseball.



Will Ernst – Class of 1952 for baseball and basketball – Will  was an extraordinary athlete in both basketball and baseball and went on to a great athletic career at The University of Cincinnati.



Mark Todd – Class of 1965 for baseball basketball and football – Mark was a four-sport athlete, was known for always hustling and setting a winning example for his teammates and accumulated 9 letters over his four-year career.



Annette McCall – Class of 1993 for basketball – Annette was outstanding in women’s basketball.  She scored 1,260 career points, the second-best scoring record in the school’s history.



Dante Love – Class of 2005 for baseball, basketball and football – Dante was a three sport letterman with two each in football, basketball, and baseball.
